How is the story of Hamlet possible?
Our answer is that it is possible as a fairy tale – ONCE UPON A TIME…
That is why we do not bind ourselves to the period in which the play was written, nor do we seek specific historical parameters of the events, nor do we place the action in our present day. We believe that the essence reveals itself best when the answer to “when” is “sometime”—a mythical “sometime” that actually means always. This approach allows us to experience a truth that transcends the limits of specific contexts and interpretations.
“Hamlet” is one of the most famous plays in the world. Many of you are familiar with its bloody story of a young prince who encounters a ghost, descends into madness, and asks the universal question:
“To be or not to be?” — a question still seeking its answer today.
He kills and is killed, along with all those entangled in his inability to understand why fate has chosen this course. And here we are today—once again facing the genius text of William Shakespeare—immersing ourselves in the breathtaking world of Shakespeare’s language, trying with sincerity to reveal the answer to Hamlet’s question.
And so… although our story may be nearing its end, that of our poet is not.
Because his monument is eternal—not carved in stone, but woven from verse—and it will be remembered… as long as words are born from breath, and breath from life.
